Phoebe studied at the Design Centre at Enmore,
under; Robin Blau, Ragner Hansen,
Catherine
Harrington, Cinnamin Lee, Oliver Smith, Barbra Ryman, and Merylin
Bailey. She found the various aspects of
jewellery fascinating and at the end of the year continued to study,
and is currently completing the Jewellery Trade course.
Her work comes from
a concept which can be anything around that has
inspired her.
"I've always tried to keep my designs and
my work simple which
in turn is actually harder to achieve then doing something
complicated. The
simple things are often the most beautifull. I frequently draw
inspiration
from many things in life and in art; a spontaneous brush stroke,
an
involuntary line, a silouette from dance or movement, a feeling
or an
energy. Trying to recreate a moment is never quite the same.
My appreciation
for art and jewellery come from this reason. A hand-made piece
has its own
personality and it is impossible to achieve an exact copy of
the work,
making the original one of a kind."
