Freelance Success provides training and support for anyone working as a freelance or contractor in a creative field, regardless of profession. For 12 years we have provided the Workshop, a comprehensive training program covering everything a creative person needs to know about working for themselves. The workshop details:

Setting up your own business;
Money management, including rates and invoicing procedures;
Tax, covering GST, PAYG and making your creative life a tax deduction;
Legal matters, such as contracts, copyright, moral rights and defamation;
Marketing, with a special emphasis on word-of-mouth.

Unlike other business courses, Freelance Success concentrates on the special considerations needed for artists. Most business programs fail to focus on our specific needs, and deal solely in goods-based business. Freelance Success is unique in that it offers information relevant only to creatives who work as freelancers or contactors. It is not dry or boring, but fun and full of real-life anecdotes and experiences. Each workshop is also accompanied by booklets offering contacts, resources, additional reading and templates for necessary forms.

In addition to the Workshop, Freelance Success also hosts networking events, master classes, a regular newsletter and more. Freelance Success is run by Monica Davidson, a filmmaker and writer who has been successfully freelance for 19 years.
