Point Break drama was established
to fill the huge void in quality acting tuition on the Northern beaches
of Sydney. Point Break offers a wide range of courses for youth and
adults with three levels of acting beginners for adults, an acting for
camera class for adults and drama for Youth.
Point Break Drama is the Brainchild
of Adam Stewart (Bachelor of Performance) and Paul Winchester (Bachelor
of Arts). Both attented prestigious drama shcools with Adam going to
Theatre Nepean and Paul attending the Western Australian Academy of
Performing Arts. Adam and Paul are professional actors with 20 yrs experience
working in the profession.
Paul began his acting career at just
17 when he made the tele-drama " A Good Time Tonight" in his
native Perth. He trained as a circus performer with Perry Brothers before
attending Waapa. Paul has worked in Theatre, Tv and Film since coming
to sydney ten years ago. Adam started acting
in his mid-twenties after a successful modelling career in Europe. Adam
has enjoyed great success in the theatre since graduating from the acclaimed
theatre Nepean.
Point Break Drama has put through
its doors over 800 actors since its beginnings over three years ago.
Point break students have received accolades
and landed professional work. Students from Youth Drama have performed
and won titles at Eistedfods such as Ryde, been accepted into special
theatre schools like Mosman High and received work in short film and
commercials.
Some adult beginners have landed professional
work also on Tv drama, commercials and the theatre. Some people just
come along because they want to conquer their fear of performing, or
maybe find a new way to do presentations in the corporate workplace
or just simply to have a lot of fun expressing themselves. Point Break
prides itself on catering for all needs.
Point Break has produced its first
short film called "By the Book" which will be released later
in 2005 and entered into festivals in Europe and Australia.
"My weekly class allowed me to
release my mind from the daily pressures of work and life and experience
moments of intense satisfaction and self worth"
Bryce Chapman, Manager and Owner of Kindifarm
"I have always felt extremely
uncomfortable about public speaking of any kind. The class enabled me
to gain confidence and believe in myself and discover the joy and satisfaction
of stepping out of my comfort zone"
Sally Phillips (student)
"I have had some fun, done some hard work,
explored my inner emotional self and met some wonderful and talented
locals. I would advise anyone who wants to explore or practice their
acting skills to take the next step with point Break"
