Live
Songwriters
Live is a showcase night where emerging and prominent songwriters are
able to play their original music in an acoustic format. The night is
hosted and organised by Keith Armitage, a multi-award winning songwriter
himself who selects the most outstanding talent from submissions received
from all over Sydney and Australia.
Held
every Thursday night from 8.30 pm 'til midnight at the Manly Boatshed,
four acts are selected to do a half hour acoustic set each - styles
range from Country, Folk, Jazz & Pop.
This
event has been running in Manly for over two years and one year in Newcastle,
the latter being held on a Wednesday night. As a result, Keith oftens
brings to Sydney the stand out acts from Newcastle.
To
date, the following artists are just some of the performers to have
appeared at Songwriters Live: James Blundell, Troy Cassar Daley, Sarah
Storer, Steve Balbi, Kevin Bennett, James Gillard, Jackie Bristow and
Butterfly Nine.
