Painter, Printmaker, Illustrator (Frenchs Forest, NSW)

I come from a small town called Manurewa, south of Auckland in New Zealand. Art came to me through my asthmatic condition when I was a kid, it helped pass the time when I had attacks and had to sit upright all night. So what else would you do?

The human form is infinitely complex and alluring, it can be used to express a spectrum of ideas that can be understood by all. This has captivated me for decades and continues to do so.

I use predominantly charcoal and pastel and ink as this suits my desire to interpret form through gesture and curve, through quick movements to give suggestions rather than search for fidelity.

Artist Statement:
At present I am exploring the reactions between myself and subject matter. My art is constantly evolving, changing in it's intent and language. The subject matter may be the same but the resulting interactions cause differing results in my work. A theme I enjoy investigating - amongst others- is the human condition.
